Qs and As
Why should I choose Classon Candle Company?
We hope you will consider ordering from us because a great deal of care is put into every candle. So many luxury candles are overpriced and produced by exploitative companies while candles from other small businesses may be one-note or lack quality control. We offer complex, unique, and luxury-level scents sold with passion and purpose.
What is your contact information?
You can email us at contact@classoncandles.com! Or use the contact form linked above.
What is your return/exchange policy?
If your order was broken or if you received the wrong candle, email us at contact@classoncandles.com within 10 days of receiving your order. Please include photos of the issue and your order number or full name. We're happy to provide either a replacement or refund given the circumstances.
While we do not offer refunds for any other reason, we take product issues and complaints very seriously. If you are not satisfied with a candle, you may exchange your unlit purchase for any candle of equal value on our site. If you have a more specific issue (if you are new to candle maintenance or your candle begins tunneling, for example), please reach out to us via email, and we will be happy to help troubleshoot.
We unfortunately cannot offer returns or exchanges on vinyl record purchases.
What are your candles made of?
Our candles are made of 100% vegetable wax. All of our candles are gluten, phthalate, paraben, and cruelty-free as well as vegan. Our fragrances are sourced sustainably from natural, renewable sources as well.
What do your candles smell like?
We like to keep the labelling on our candles as minimal as possible, therefore scent details are foregone in favor of the title which is meant to convey a destination, memory, or experience that the scent reflects. Complete scent notes are available on each candle's individual webpage.
Where are your products made?
All candles are hand-poured in either Brooklyn, New York or Los Angeles, California and personally poured or inspected by our owner. The source of materials will vary, but we always try to source from reputable and ethical suppliers. Ethical in our eyes means transparency, fair labor practices, and minimal, if any, environmental impact.
The following components are confirmed to be USA-made: our wicks, wax, and fragrances.
Vinyl records are collected from a variety of places. If vinyl interest you beyond our selection, support your local record stores!
What percentage of your sales is donated to charity?
Short answer—it fluctuates! We donate between 5-15% of actual profits per sale. We never dip below 5%. This will not impact the price of our candles; our products were the same price at launch vs. now with the implementation of donations.
Where are your donations going?
Each candle and/or product is assigned a charity so that each sale directly correlates with a contribution to that charity. This way we are able to expand our range of giving while also making our outlook and goals as a company clearer.
If you visited our site before February 1st, 2024, you may know that we formerly donated to a rotating selection of charities. If you bought a candle before February 1st, you likely helped contribute to the NYC Food Bank or The Center.
Each candle's charity is as follows:
GREEN—The Trevor Project
EVERGREEN—National Park Foundation
NIHOMORI—Mossy Earth
VERANDA—ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union)
SONORA—RAICES (Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services)
SUMMER—350.org
AKTI—MECA (Middle East Children's Alliance)
ZING—TUGI (The Urban Garden Initiative)
